Description
Disordered elastic systems are characterised by their macroscopic force-force correlator. It is not only the central object of the field theory, but can straightforwardly be measured in experiments. It also appears in the mapping onto sandpile models, both the Manna sandpile for disordered elastic manifolds, as the Abelian sandpile for charge-density waves.
